Loosing Weight

There are a couple of main things that I would like to point out with losing weight.  Losing weight is not really a correct term to use.  Most people that want to “Lose Weight” really just want to lose fat.

Let’s think about this for a second.  The problem is not what the scales are reading but more what the tape measure is reading.  This is not always the case though; some very skinny people have very fatty organs and high cholesterol.  Scientists have now started looking into people of “normal” weight and finding a very high percentage of body fat.  The term “normal weight obesity” is used for these people and they are at just as much risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and strokes.  A good site for this is http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/04/02/earlyshow/health/main3988770.shtml

OK I know that the study was in America but I can tell you that most western countries are not too far behind the American trends.
